Well friends, Season 2 begins with a bang as I invite into the studio a music legend and dear friend, Wendy Waldman on Thursday, January 10, 2013 for an hour of talk and music by this wonderful singer/songwriter/producer/friend!
More than 70 artists have recorded songs Wendy either wrote or co-wrote in musical fields as diverse as pop, R&B, country, film, Latin and cowboy music. Among her biggest hits are "Save The Best For Last" and "The Sweetest Days" by Vanessa Williams; "Fishin In The Dark" and "Home Again IN My Heart" by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band"; "Baby What About You" by Crystal Gayle; "I Owe You ONe" by Aaron Neville; "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson and "I'm Gone" by Alison Krauss.
Her songs have also been recorded by Maria Muldaur, Robert Smith of The Cure, Linda Ronstadt, Kim Carnes, CeCe Winans, NewGrass revival, Randy Travis, Randy Meisner, Edgar Winter, Jesse Colin Young, Percy Sledge, Kenny Rogers, Judy Collins, Melisa Manchester, Rita Coolidge and Bette Midler to name just a few.
And Wendy also produced albums by Suzy Bogguss, Matraca Berg, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Jonathan Edwards, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, NewGrass Revival and me!
As an artist Wendy has released 8 solo projects since 1973. I am so proud to have been able to work with her and even more blessed to call her a friend!
