I Believe To My Soul

In March of 2012, WSM Radio – home of The Grand Ole Opry – launched John Cowan – I Believe To My Soul, an hour-long radio program that airs monthly and features John interviewing and playing the music of some of the giants and legends of contemporary music. Providing a spectacular launch, John's debut guest wa none other than the legendary Leon Russell, whose catalog of songs includes timeless classics like “Masquerade” and “A Song For You,” and whom Elton John names among his biggest influences.

Season One of I Believe To My Soul features John’s former New Grass Revival band mate and world-renowned banjo innovator Bela Fleck; beloved singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell; Justin Hayward, lead singer and songwriter of Moody Blues fame; Gordon Stoker of the Jordanaires; founding member and lead singer & principal songwriter of the iconic group Chicago, Robert Lamm; and many more.

This series, unlike any other today, is presented in the fashion of a fireside chat, artist to artist and John explores previously untapped stories to give his listeners a glimpse into the lives and mind of some of the more famous and fascinating artist of our time. And the best part is, he knows them all well and calls them friends.
